We LOVE People who LOVE Dogs !
We love helping people have the dogs of their dreams!
Enzo’s Acres began as a vision, as many great things do. Enzo was our boy, who after we lost him, we wanted to mark his memory with something he would be proud of. And years later here we are. We have rescued and successfully re-homed over 500 dogs, who would have otherwise been euthanized. We put 110% into every adoption, looking for the “right” family for every Enzo’s Dog. We take pride in matching families and dogs. As of the summer of 2016 we have only had 4 dogs returned to Enzo’s Acres and all 4 of those dogs went on to find better families than we originally picked, sometimes even with all our screening we can have an “oops”.
We offer all our adopters follow up help with training and any problems they may have when they bring their dog home.
Enzo’s hosts small group training classes for basic obedience and advanced obedience, social groups, puppy socialization, and relationship building classes, plus Day-Camp for dogs (a step up from your average doggy day care) and, Overnight Boarding Camp for dogs. All our new services help us maintain the rescue. We rely on donations and adoption fees to pay for the dogs we pull into the rescue, but in reality every dog costs us more money than we have.
Please check out the Training page and our training packages. We also offer group training to other rescues and fosters who may be struggling with their dogs.
It takes a village of volunteers to run a successful rescue business: Fosters, Transporters, Adoption Coordinators, Fundraisers, Vets, and the list goes on.
Because we are an ALL breed, non-breed specific dog rescue we have the opportunity to find great family dogs. We choose dogs based on personality not based on breed. Often when a dog comes into Enzo’s Acres we have no idea what “breed” it is, even vets and shelters struggle with selecting a breed to mark on their kennel card. So I say “what do you think he/she is”? While “breed specific” rescues search listings for their breed, we search listings for dogs being passed up because they are not a specific “breed”, and are “great” dogs.
All of our dogs see one of our vets for a health check. We do our best to give the best medical care while the dogs are in our program. We do not make promises or guarantees regarding the health of any of our dogs, but we do our best to adopt out healthy dogs. Along with a health check, our dogs are spay/neutered, up to date on vaccines, rabies and microchipped. Sometimes dogs need boosters after they are adopted, we make sure to list all needed vet care upon adoption.
When a dog comes into Enzo’s Acres they go into an approved foster home for a minimum of 21 days before they go up for adoption. During the 21 days we vet the dog and take care of all health needs. This also gives us time to allow the dog to acclimate to a home environment. We feel it takes at least that long for a dogs personality to show. Some dogs take much longer to be available for adoption based on medical needs and training needs.
Thank you all for your unending support! Please spread the word that we have expanded and think of us the next time you need help with your dog.
